This trapezoidal room has many large rugs that cover almost all of the floor, yet without overlapping in more than a few places. There are two tables for playing billiards (one with pockets, for what Americans think of as "pool," and one without), and some other furniture. There is an iron railing along the stairs you just ascended; upon reaching the top it folds back on itself, and becomes part of a fence that runs along the perimeter of the stairwell opening, shielding the unwary from falling in. Near this railing fence is a tall tray on thin legs, with three candles and a formal-looking heavy candlestick on it. Next to the candlestick is a card.
A card table is set up, and there appears to be some sort of board game in progress on it.
This room has many doors, two of which are in the north wall. Cabinets cover most of the rest of that wall, beyond which the occasional squawking and cooing can be heard. One of the cabinets is partly open. In it are games, including two chess sets (different from each other and from the set out in the courtyard), Senet, The Works, Guillotine, and Set.
The west wall also has two doors in it. One is marked with a sign saying "Folks." The door to the right of that one is unmarked.
