PETAL July 18, 2000 Mt. Tabor Theater, Portland, OR |
I've worked in the music industry for years. I played guitar and keyboards in several bands but decided that my interests were more behind the scenes. In the late 70's/early 80's I worked as a photographer for a major concert promoter in Chicago. Some of the bands I shot were Yes, Genesis, Supertramp, Jethro Tull, Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock, Jean Luc Ponti, as well as many local bands. I got into the promotion and production end of things while working for a Stereo Retail chain in the Midwest and had a major part in producing a show featuring thirty six local bands from around the Chicago metro area called Loopfest. |
More recently, I toured with a band from Portland, OR (The Tree Frogs) all over the West for a year as their technical producer. Lately, I'm focusing on being a consulting producer for bands trying to get out of the garage and onto a stage or into the studio to record.
In 1999, I produced the Brooklyn Arts and Music Festival. The BAMF, as it became known, included ten bands in an outdoor venue and three more that evening at the Aladdin Theater. The festival also included the visual art of 13 artists and craft works by many more. |
