What is Hevanet's E-mail Gateway?
Hevanet E-mail Gateway allows you to use your Internal e-mail system
to exchange e-mail with the whole Internet and other networked mail services
such as Compuserve, AppleLink, America Online, Prodigy, eWorld, and GEnie.
Hevanet collects and holds your e-mail until your system calls Hevanet
to exchange e-mail. Hevanet will send out your e-mail to the rest of the
world. Your system will call us on a regular interval, for example every
30 minutes.
What do you need?
You can use software packages such as Lotus cc:Mail, Microsoft Mail,
Novell GroupWise, and Lotus Notes for unattended transfer of electronic
mail through a telephone line. You must be willing to leave your system
turned on all day (and night if necessary) to call us on a regular basis.
You should also have a modem (14.4 kbps recommended) and a regular phone
line for that modem.
What do you get?
A gateway connection with Hevanet includes transfer of 25 MB of data
to and from 5 different e-mail addresses during a month. Additional e-mail
addresses can be purchased for $3.00 each. Clients who exceed their 25+
MB a month, may be billed for additional usage.
How much does it cost?
$50 start-up (This amount assumes that no work needs to be done at
the Client's system.) and $25.00 a month for 5 e-mail addresses. Additional
E-mail addresses are $3.00/month each. This service is included in our
Domain Name Service,
thus we recommend that you register an Internet domain name for your company.
An e-mail address could look like this: yourname@yourcompany.com.
