The best tool for uploading and then working on your web pages is to
use an ftp program. If you don't have one, you can download one from our
ftp server. (follow the Windows or Mac information below) When you have
uploaded the files, send email to support@hevanet.com
with a list of all of the web pages that you have uploaded and we will
set up your web space. You will be able to edit your pages after the initial
setup.
Windows - Upload Web Page
You can download Winftp from our ftp server by connecting your Web
browser (e.g Netscape) to ftp://ftp.hevanet.com/pub/windows/winftp.zip
then choose Save to Disk to download the file. If you do not have an
unzipper, download pkunzip.exe
too. Unzip the file to extract the ftp program, and create an icon
using File/New in the Program Manager. The executable file is winftp.exe.
To use winftp to upload files, connect using ftp.hevanet.com as the host
and use your login and password. This will connect you to your home directory.
The connect window shows your files on the left and the Hevanet files on
the right. To upload the files, Set the directory on the left to where
your web pages are on your hard disk, then click on the right-pointing
arrow to upload the files. Don't forget to send an e-mail to support@hevanet.com
with a list of all of the web pages that you uploaded.
Mac - Upload Web Page
If you don't have fetch, open your web browser (e.g. Netscape) to ftp://ftp.hevanet.com/pub/mac/fetch-212.hqx
and choose, "save to disk". If you do not have stuffit expander
download stuffit-expander-352.bin
too.
Use the "fetch" FTP program to transfer web pages. Connect to
ftp.hevanet.com using your login and password (not the anonymous ftp login)
and leave the starting directory blank. This will connect you to your home
directory. Use the put button to upload the pages. Don't forget to send
an e-mail to support@hevanet.com
with a list of all of the web pages that you uploaded.
