Our first-ever  "Youth Day" was held on Saturday, May 11th at the Portland Gun Club. We had a great turnout with about 75 kids attending, plus most of their parents. We went through more than 1000 rounds of 20ga. ammo and at least that many clays. Many of the parents decided to try shooting and we were just as happy to give them the opportunity too. All of the 8 Boy Scouts that tried for their merit badges were successful and their instructor was impressed with both the format and the facility. We look forward to working with them again in the future. I would like to personally thank all of the volunteers that helped out and really put their best foot forward. The safety instructors and shooting coaches were great, the archery booth was a big hit and the lunch couldn't have been better. Be sure not to miss our next Hoodview Chapter Youth Day Event!
