Hey, you came to the Frolic's website! Tell us you did that, 'cause that's awesome!
Where is this thing?
We're thninking of having another off site (restaurant) year. Currently under consideration are the Japanese place we've Froliced at twice before, our nearest Thai restaurant, and a new Chinese buffet down the street. Let us know if you're reading this and have a preference!
Can my family come?
Can I invite my friends?
Check with a host before extending an invitation to someone other than yourself. We'll want to be able to give the restaurant numbers, but if it's at a restaurant anyone you're comfortable bringing to a restaurant can come!
What are you, Wiccan, or what?
Our Frolic is not a religious event. It's a party. No one should feel out of place at JAK'S Frosty Frolic. None of the hosts are explicitly Wiccan or Pagan, and several degrees and varieties of religious practice are represented among our hosts (from none to a father who's a Father). We know that several degrees and varieties of religious practice are also represented among our regular attendees and other friends. We're not really here to encourage you to talk about religion, but if you end up on the topic we expect that everyone can keep the tone to a "liberal arts college conversation" more than a "sabbath conversion." Be curious, but be respectful, mindful, civil. (You know, the fun, nice, intelligent people we know you are!)
What's a solstice?
Our simple answer is, in the northern hemisphere the winter solstice occurs when the sun is the farthest south of the equator it will be in the year. In 2021 that's Tuesday Dec. 21st at 7:59 am PST. It's some not-useful-for-a-party time in 2022 too.
Normally the Frolic has a focal moment. This year the moment of solstice is not a convenient time for a party, but if you'd like to mark it with a host that can be arranged (at least, for Host 3).
More JAK'S Frosty FAQ & Facts could be coming "soon" to this website.
Thanks for reading JAK'S Frosty FAQ & Facts! You are now Informed! (if you don't feel informed, contact a host)
