Sand becomes harder dirt and large stones. A path rises up in front of you in long smooth switchbacks, as if to make the way passable for more than just those on foot.


As you get closer, you see that someone has gone to the serious trouble of paving the path with small grey stone bricks. You shake your head.

The climb is easy but a bit tedious, the gradient steep enough to be interesting but not enough to feel efficient.





After the last switchback, the path straightens out to head south southwest and disappears over a rise.
